BREAKING INTO DEVELOPMENT

The transition from production to development has been a natural evolution of my passion for storytelling. Working on films like Beverly Hills Cop 4 and DreamQuil, I had a front-row seat to the logistical side of filmmaking, but what excited me most was the creative process—the decisions made long before the cameras rolled. Seeing how scripts evolved, how producers assessed material, and how projects were nurtured from idea to execution sparked my interest in the development process.

What Excites Me About Development

Development is about finding and shaping stories that resonate. It’s about spotting potential in a rough draft, understanding how to strengthen a script, and championing projects that deserve to be made. My experience in production has given me the ability to think logistically, but my heart is in the creative choices that bring great stories to life.

What’s Next

I’m actively honing my development skills, expanding my knowledge of industry trends, and seeking opportunities to work closely with teams that are passionate about bringing compelling narratives to the screen. Understanding Storytelling: Script Coverage & Analysis

One of the most valuable skills I’ve developed is script coverage, breaking down narrative structure, character arcs, and themes to evaluate a project’s strengths and weaknesses. Whether providing coverage for independent filmmakers or analyzing industry scripts, I focus on what makes a story compelling and commercially viable—a skill essential for any development team.

In this section, you’ll find:

  • Samples of script coverage showcasing my ability to analyze and provide constructive feedback.

  • Breakdowns of films and TV shows I admire, explaining why they work from a story and market perspective.
